EnergieLive.ro – focus on Romanian energy market in 2012

CRSC Europe started the development of EnergieLive.ro, the first Romanian energy portal implemented by a local NGO initiative. EnergieLive started as a section on BusinessLive.ro in 2010 and in a very short time reached an impressive number of visitors, energy professionals and decision makers. The website covers the energy sector in Romania and has a strong focus on renewable energy – in 2011 CRSC Europe and RWEA (Romanian Wind Energy Association) started a stong partnership aiming to promote the benefits of wind energy in Romania.

EnergieLive.ro will start in 2012 with a team of young independent journalists, green energy activists and energy professionals that will cover all the events happening on the local market. The website will also be one of the main media partners of Romanian Wind Energy Forum 2012, the most important wind conference in Romania, suported by RWEA and EWEA (European Wind Energy Association).

One of the most appreciated services provided by EnergieLive.ro in 2012 is the monthly Wind Energy Newsletter http://energielive.ro/newsletter/, reaching all major wind companies and energy institutions in Romania.

The Digital Media Library NGO Initiative – Romania’s Digital Heritage

The project of the Digital Library of the Romanian Written Media is based on a need of the civil society and it is, like the journalist Marius Stoian calls it, a forceful political idea: the recovery of the historical textual and imagistic patrimony of a guild, of the journalistic guild of a European state.

Capitalizing on the cultural and informative deposit of the Romanian printed media is a piece of national identity, consequently a component of European cultural identity. Continue reading “The Digital Media Library NGO Initiative – Romania’s Digital Heritage”

C.P. Scott – School of Independent Journalism

We started C.P. Scott School of Independent Journalism for young people eager to learn to communicate effectively using new media. A new generation of journalists needs a new mindset and a new way of looking at stories.

History on the News

Why C.P. Scott!? Because we are a young team and we want to show everybody that we can comment freely without distorting reality. The motto “The facts are sacred, comments are free”.

Charles Prestwich Scott (26 October 1846 – 1 January 1932) was a British journalist, publisher and public figure. He was the editor of the Manchester Guardian (now the Guardian) from 1872 until 1929 and its owner from 1907 until his death.

In a famous 1921 essay marking the Manchester Guardian’s centenary (at which time he had served nearly fifty years as editor), Scott put down his opinions on the role of the newspaper. He argued that the “primary office” of a newspaper is accurate news reporting: in his words, “comment is free, but facts are sacred“. Even editorial comment has its responsibilities: “It is well to be frank; it is even better to be fair”. A newspaper should have a “soul of its own”, with staff motivated by a “common ideal”: although the business side of a newspaper must be competent, if it becomes dominant the paper will face “distressing consequences”.

CRSC Europe invites you to join C.P. Scott – School of Independent Journalism
