Energy Security in Eastern Europe – Visegrad group meeting at Romanian Energy Forum, 29 April 2013

Romanian Energy Forum 2013 | Visegrad Group Conference – „Energy Security in Central Europe. A Properly Functioning Regional Gas Market – an Attractive and Realistic Option and How to Get There”.

The keynote speakers of the event are the Delegate Minister for Energy, Mr. Constantin Nita from Romania and Mrs. Beata Stelmach, Undersecretary of State, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland.

The conference will consist in a presentation of the priorities of the Polish Presidency in the Visegrad Group in the field of energy security, aimed at increasing the use of the natural gas potential. High-level speakers from V4 countries’ administration and energy industry are invited to take part ant to contribute to the conference.


The debate will focus on elimination of regulatory and trade barriers, the diversification of gas resources, importance of developing North-South interconnections and the Southern Corridor Project, ways to implement the 3rd EU Energy Package and to ensure operational regional solidarity mechanisms.

During the discussion attention will be given to efforts undertaken in Central Europe, including in Romania, to create a well-integrated energy market, ready to absorb considerable gas volumes from different sources. Participants will also be offered an opportunity to have a closer look on unconventional gas resources in Europe.

The conference will take place in Bucharest on 29th April 2013 at Athenee Palace Hilton Hotel, Regina Maria Hall. The working language is English.
